Donald W. Whittle


Donald W. Whittle, born December 18, 1947 and died February 8, 2011. Don was the oldest son of Lewis and Lula Mae England. He was born at Tom, OK and grew up in Haworth, OK. He attended Haworth Public Schools. Don later moved to Idabel, OK for several years. He also lived in Ulysses, KS, Woodward, OK, and Waurika, OK. He moved to Durant, OK in 1986 and lived there until his death.

Don is survived by his children: Tina (Whittle) Stocks, Durant, OK; Vince Whittle, Durant, OK; and Tina (Deer) Lansdale and husband Richard, Winthrop, AR.; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

His is also survived by his brother, William England and wife Bobbie, Idabel, OK; sisters, Connie (England) Rolen and husband Virgil, Woodward, OK; Patricia (England) Rolen and husband Non, Enid, OK, many other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Lula Mae England; brother, Ronnie England; son Donald Deer; and son-in-law Jerry Stocks.

Don loved to hunt, fish, listen to country music, and loved to dance. He worked in construction, was a mechanic, and also worked in the oilfield. He moved to Durant and became a Handyman.

Don’s request for burial was to be cremated, and his ashes spread over the graves of his mother and little brother in Idabel, OK. The family will have a ‘Celebration of Life’ in the spring and make that announcement at a later date.
