Marcelle Jones

Funeral Services for Marcelle (Slack) Jones, 96 of Caddo, Oklahoma will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Caddo United Methodist Church. Rev. John Breon will officiate. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery with Simon Doyle, Spencer Doyle, Justin Griffin, Josh Burnett, Austin Jones, Clinton Wood and Chris Flowers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Daniel Mannas and Ryan Rogers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6-8 PM. Marcelle was born on June 16, 1921 in Shongaloo, Louisiana to Benjamin Clinton and Mary Lena (Walden) Slack. Marcelle joined her husband and family in Heaven on April 21, 2018 in Calera, Oklahoma. She graduated from Cotton Valley High School and later married Roy C. Jones on July 25, 1947. They moved to Bryan County shortly after and together as one raised their six children. Marcelle was a loving wife and mother and dedicated her life to her family. She worked as a Rosie the Riveter. She was a loyal member of the Caddo United Methodist Church and Sunday School Teacher, United Methodist Women and Eastern Star and earned her 50 year pin. In her free time she enjoyed quilting and sewing and spending time with her sweet family and friends. Marcelle was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Roy C. Jones; parents; 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Marcelle is survived by her children, Bryant Jones and wife Heather of Hope, NM, Brenda Doyle and husband Ross of Houston, TX, Beverly Jones and husband Steve Olinghouse of Topeka, KS, Beth Griffin and husband Roger of Broken Bow, OK, Barbara Wood and husband Kenny of Ardmore, OK and Betty Flowers and husband Russell of Coppell, TX; sister, Ruby Beene of Cotton Valley, LA; grandchildren, Michael Jones, Simon Doyle and wife Elizabeth, Spencer Doyle and wife Megan, KayeLee Rogers and husband Ryan, Justin Griffin and wife DeeDee, Jill Burnett and husband Josh, Keisha Mannas and husband Daniel, Clinton Wood and Chris Flowers; great grandchildren, Austin Jones, Avery Burnett, Jackson Burnett, Carter Doyle, Nora Doyle, Lilly Doyle, Hannah Mannas and Caroline Mannas.
