Asa (Ace) Erik Frings

Asa (Ace) Erik Frings entered this world in Durant, Oklahoma on March 31, 1995. He earned his high school degree at Durant High School in graduating class of 2013. In school, his competitive nature would bring him home to work on his homework without prompting. He strove to be a top achiever. Asa’s earliest place of employment was Little Caesar’s Pizza. He gave more than the job required. He started his job at the lowest position. He not only held the advertisement sign for Little Caesar’s Pizza to beckon customers, but he understood the concept of “selling yourself.” He danced with all his soul and the amazing dynamic energy that was within him, only keeping a jug of water nearby to refresh himself. The charisma he displayed was always noted by passers-by. He took a job that most would view as simple and turned it into a true performance of art. Asa applied for a position at Cardinal FG in 2013 where, once again, he started at the lowest position. He was one of the youngest employees when he started this job. Always early to work, willing to work overtime, he worked his way up to his position through his hard-working and responsible nature, giving everything that he had to give. He was loyal and devoted to whatever his job required, even creating fun on the job. Over the years he worked his way up to the position of Hot End Technician, working the furnaces, scrupulously looking for any defects that might prove hazardous to the company. Asa made many friends at Cardinal FG and will not be forgotten. He continued to remain at his position until the time of his passing. Everyone who knew Asa knew one very special thing about him. Asa was a genuine people-person. He loved life and he loved so many people, and people loved him. Words do not do justice for the special gift that Asa had for getting to know others. He had one of the most charismatic personalities that words fail to describe. He was so full of life. He was adventurous and spontaneously clever. Everything he did brought life to the humdrum of existence. He was truly the life of the party when amongst friends, always full of laughter and jokes, he lifted others up. He was a magnet that attracted people to him. He had a generous heart and was there for so many people. His love was so very deep for all the many people he knew. In writing this tribute of his life, it is impossible to encompass the essence and life force of Asa. He had more friends than one normally achieves in a lifetime. Asa’s first passion was skateboarding, which his brother Faron taught him. He was nimble and the youngest one of his friends, who shared his passion for skateboarding, to have such a natural talent for it. Everything Asa put his mind and heart to, he did far beyond what would be considered ordinary. Asa loved spending time with friends, the significant loves of his life, and he loved his family deeply. Asa enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool, making up spontaneous road trips, grilling and cooking, kayaking, hiking, and skateboarding. Anything that came up to do for fun and adventure, Asa was there to experience life. He truly was a free spirit and lived life to the fullest. Asa’s earliest and best friend was his brother, Ethan. They did everything together as if they were twins though they were twenty-two months apart. They were inseparable. They were each other’s confidants in all things from little partners in crime to happiness and laughter and childhood adventures. They understood one another on a deep soul level that was theirs and only theirs. Asa tragically left this world a little after midnight, November 12, 2019. Words again fail to describe the vast void that has followed his passing, as so many have lost a son, brother, grandson, friend, uncle, and significant companion. God made only one Asa for this lifetime, and his life and future potential was cut short at the young age of twenty-four. There is no knowing the possibilities of what Asa might have achieved further in life if he put his heart into pursuing a new lifepath career, had he not left this world all too soon. The loss of Asa is incomprehensible. It cannot be described. But, he will never be forgotten. Although Asa’s tragedy cannot be fully understood, one thing is true of his nature. He would want his desires to be known to all he loved. Asa would want all his family and loved ones to be happy and well. He would want to express his love and hope to see us all again one day. He has only gone ahead before us – for a time. Asa’s spirit lives on. His memories are priceless. He’s a child of God. The Lord broke the mold when he created Asa. Asa would also desire for all his loved ones left behind to do something for him: Love to the fullest. Be all you can be. Grow in wisdom. Stay strong. Pursue your dreams. Use your potential. Put passion into everything that you do. Look for the amazement in all the little things. Have gratitude for what you have and who you are. Be a friend to others in need. Take the time to be there to truly live your life, as it is a gift and a miracle. Trust in the Lord. Asa was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Faron Wright, and his cherished Nana, Barbara Wright. Asa is survived by his loving Mother, Karen (Wright) Prus, Father, Doryan Frings and wife Tralanea, his dearest Brother, Corporal Ethan Frings of the United States National Guard, Randy Prus – who was his Father figure growing up, sisters Avrey and Anistyn Frings, Grandparents, John R. and Betty Wright, and Katherine M. and Larry Wright, grandfather Carl F. Frings, Niece, Alexia Wright, and more friends than one can count on in a lifetime. Services will be held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Father Blagg officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery with Ethan Frings, Doryan Frings, Andy Hall, Andrew Dollar, Kevin Donelan, and Craig Johnson serving as pallbearers. The family will accept friends Tuesday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
