Barbara Ann (Phillips) Hobbs

Barbara Ann (Phillips) Hobbs entered this life on December 5, 1942 in Bunkie, Louisiana born to the late Herman Eugene and Mareta Veasey (Short) Phillips and entered her Heavenly Home on November 14, 2016 in Mead, Oklahoma at the age of 73. Barbara graduated from Lamar High School in Paris, Texas. She was married to the love of her life, Roy Floyd Hobbs until his passing on April 28, 2008. Barbara retired from Prepaid Legal Services and moved to Bryan County in October 2012 to manage Hobbs Properties. She was a member of the Rattan Church of Christ and the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, spending time with family and friends and she dearly treasured her grandchildren. Barbara is survived by her sons, Kip Messer of Sherman, TX, Robby Messer and wife Sandy of Savoy, TX and Alan Hobbs and wife Tracie of Mead, OK; grandchildren, Randy Hunter, Tyler Messer, Brittani Brosh, Ciara Hobbs, Bryan Lunsford and Steven Lunsford, step daughters, Sandy Benzine and husband Larry of Rattan, OK, Teresa Ross and husband James of Rattan, OK and Kim Walker of Rattan, OK; step grandchildren, Kyle and Tyler Cothran; sisters, Linda Phillips of Ward, AR and Janice Calaway of Mansfield, TX; brothers, Bobby Phillips of TN and Mike Phillips of Colbert, OK; step sisters, Anna Garrison of Honey Grove, TX, Barbara Evans of Paris, TX and Polly Shew of Paris, TX; step brother, Larry Bramhall of Paris, TX and numerous extended family and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Mareta Phillips; husband Roy Floyd Hobbs; daughter, Debbi Waters and step daughter, Marilyn Dobbs. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Rattan Church of Christ. James Campbell will officiate. Interment will follow in the Rattan Cemetery with Bryan Lunsford, Steven Lunsford, Randy Hunter, Larry Hobbs, Tyler Cothran, Travis Finley and Jerrell Prough serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials by made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
