Benny Joe Horn

Benny Joe Horn passed away on December 2, 2019 in Sherman, TX with his loving family by his side. Benny was born in Caddo, OK on October 16, 1939 to Ernest and Susie Hall Horn. He attended Caddo School, graduating at the age of 16 and was a member of the National Honor Society, FFA and of the Choctaw Nation. Benny was also of the Church of Christ faith. After graduating, he joins the United States Army as a PVT in June 1955, transferred to the National Guard in March 1956, and was honorable discharged in 1957. Later attended Draughnes School of Business, moving back to Caddo where he met and married the love of his life Julia “Judy” Langendorf. They have spent 60 wonderful years together and were blessed with a daughter and son. Benny spent 38 years with Dr Pepper, Inc., retiring as Director of Marketing. Later he would go to work for Comerlot Community for 5 more years. After retiring his second time, he world spend playing golf with his Dr Pepper buddies and eating at El Fenix. They moved back to Durant where he would spend his last ten years. Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Susie Horn. Benny was survived by his wife Julia Horn of the home, daughter Dianna Horn of Carrollton, TX, son Michael Horn and wife Madeline of Farmers Branch, TX, granddaughters; Amanda Frank, Emma Frank and husband Mohammad Jilani, and Taylor Horn, brother and his best friend John Horn and wife Karen, nieces; Theresa Leblanc and husband John and family and Rhonda Routh and husband Carl and family, nephew Russell Horn and wife Carolyn and family, and special cousins Nancy Barnes, Hal Nesbitt, Belinda Davidson, Judy Rowland, Joe Joines, Mike Haggerty, Gail Goad and lots of friends. Memorial Service will be held on January 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you donate on Benny’s behalf to either the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
