Bernice White

Bernice (Franks) White was Born on July 21, 1929 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to J.K. and Eva (Daugherty) Franks. Bernice passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at home surrounded by her sweet family at the age 91. Bernice married Smith (Son) Wayne White. They were married for 70 years on June 5, 2018. Smith passed away on July 30, 2018. Bernice was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She and Smith were faithful members of Armstrong Baptist Church for many years and she was a faithful member of the WMU organization at church. She loved to embroidery and later in life enjoyed coloring. Bernice’s memory will be greatly treasured and cherished by her family and dear friends. Bernice is survived by her daughters Jean Lewis of Durant, OK, Terecia Beam of Denton, TX, Cathy Roller of Calera, OK, Yvonne Cullum and husband David of Krum, TX and Elaine Thurmon of Celina, TX; only son Smith White Jr. and wife Carrie of Nocona, TX; 13 granddaughters, 3 grandsons, 16 great granddaughters, 17 great grandsons, 4 great great granddaughters and 3 great great grandsons; brothers Tony Franks of East Texas and Butch Franks of Bartlesville, OK; sister Ronnie Coleman and numerous extended family and friends. Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Smith (Son) Wayne White; parents J.K. and Eva Franks and siblings Lettie Mae O’Neal, Myra Franks, Deanie Shaw, Lou Johnson and Wayne Franks. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Chaplain Dave Barger will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Whitesboro, TX with Kevin Lewis, Cody Carter, Mitchell Sebastian, Earl Gibby, Garry Wells and Larry Wells serving as pallbearers.
