Carol Virginia Weaver

Carol Virginia (Martin) Weaver was born on December 25, 1923 in Drumright, OK the second child of James Martin and Frances (Dearing) Martin and passed from this life on Monday, June 20, 2011 at the age of 87 years, 5 months and 26 days. She attended and graduated from Drumright Public School and then was employed at Stanolind Oil and Gas in Tulsa, OK as an assembler before the war. She joined the United States Navy on November 14, 1944 and was honorably discharged on July 16, 1946. While serving in the Navy she was assigned as Telegrapher First Class and she received the American Theatre and Victory Medals. After the war she married James Marshall Weaver and to this union were born three children. She graduated from Oklahoma A & M in Stillwater in 1949 and Carol and her family moved to Durant the summer of 1949. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Durant and later was a member of Victory Life Church in Durant. She was an accomplished pianist and played the piano for the East Side Presbyterian Church in Durant for a number of years. Carol dearly loved playing with her grandchildren and deeply loved her Lord and Savior. Carol is survived by her children James Michael Weaver and wife Shirley of Mead, OK, Donna Sue Hair and husband Durrel, Jr. of Durant, OK and Barbara Webster and husband Ken of Moore, OK; sister Patty Ishmael and husband Don of Shamrock, OK; sisters in law Katy Weaver of Afton, OK and Betty Windel of Vinita, OK; grandsons Brian Hair and wife Terry, Gregory Hair and wife JeriAnn, Roger Hair and wife Jennifer and Mark Weaver and wife Shawnettia; granddaughters Khristy Patton and husband Joe, Karen Dewitt and husband Jeremy and Sarah McCutcheon and husband David; step grandson D.J. Moeller; great grandchildren Hailey and Shawn Weaver, Blake Burkhalter and Kinsley McCutcheon, Lexington Hair, Tyler and Peyton Hair, Kayla and Abby Hair, Macy and Mason Patton and Taylor, Shelby and Emily Dewitt; step great grandchildren Nick, Zach and Hannah Patton, Jimmy Cotton, Story Neal and Peyton Cobb. Carol was preceded in death by her husband James Marshall Weaver, parents James Loren and Frances (Dearing) Martin and brother William Donald Martin. Services to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 22nd, 10:00 AM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Brian Hair, Gregory Hair, Roger Hair, Mark Weaver, David McCutcheon, Joe Patton, Jeremy Dewitt and D.J. Moeller.
