Claudie Gene Keeton

Claudie Gene Keeton of Durant was born on May 13, 1932 to Burney and Edith (Hokett) Keeton in Coleman, Oklahoma. On February 7, 2015 surrounded by his loving family, Claudie was called home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 25 days. Claudie and his first wife Sybil Wilson were united in marriage on August 26, 1949 in Atoka. They spent many loving years together until her passing on May 14, 1991. Proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Claudie fought in the Korean War receiving a Bronze Star Medal, Army OCC Medal, and the Korean Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star along with the United Nations Service Medal. Claudie moved to Bryan Co. from Fort Worth in 1992 and married Marilyn Zacharias Franklin on October 6, 1994 in Sherman, TX. Claudie drove a milk truck for most of his life and attended Sunset View Baptist Church in Durant. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn and most of all, spending time with his loving family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. Claudie is preceded in death by his parents, Burney and Edith Keeton; first wife and mother to his children, Sybil Keeton; sisters, Nedra Ables, Carrie Ridgway and infant sister, Erma Pearl Lee Keeton and his son-in-law, Pete Alexander. Claudie is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Keeton of the home; sister Jimmie Culbreath of Atoka; sons, Mike Keeton and wife Patricia of Ft. Worth, TX, Mark Keeton and wife Karen of Ft. Worth, TX, Tony Keeton and wife Terri of Ft. Worth, TX; daughters Rhonda Alexander and fiancée Paul Hughes of Plano, TX, Shyrrel Alderson and husband Bob of Ft. Worth, TX, Angie Ware of Frisco, TX, Cristy Dufur and husband Lynn of Caddo, Rhonda Joines and husband Michial of Coleman; 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and loving friends. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Claudie will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Sunset View Baptist Church in Durant with Bro. Harry Boydstun officiating. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 6-8 PM. Interment will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Greenwood Cemetery in Ft. Worth with Brendan Keeton, Gregg Keeton, Ryan Keeton, Geoff Alexander, T.J. Ware, Montana Ware, Craig Keeton and Andrew Keeton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Dufur, Casey Dufur, Jay Alexander and Jameson Joines.The family ask that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or the children’s ministry at Sunset View Baptist Church at 724 N.
