Davena Rhaye Berghauser

Davena Rhaye (Walkup) Berghauser passed away from this life on Sunday, April 19, 2015 in Plano, TX at the age of 41 years. Davena was born on March 31, 1974 in Tyler, TX to Ross and Sabra (Noack) Walkup. Davena moved from her childhood home of Lovington, N.M. in 1986 to Madill, OK. She graduated from Heritage Christian Academy in 1992. She then moved to Durant, OK. where she met her loving husband, David Allen Berghauser. They were both employed as Wal Mart greeters and were married on December 31, 2000. She then worked on the campus of Southeastern Oklahoma State University as a line server for 16 years with Sodexo. She was currently employed at Oakridge Nursing Home and Calera Manor Nursing Home as a Dietary Aid. She attended Victory Life Church in Durant and was exceptional in glorifying God and expressing His and her love of people with her everyday life. She enjoyed music, especially country western, and playing games with her family. Her favorite thing was being an avid Southeastern Oklahoma State University sports fan. She has loved and been loved deeply. Davena is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Al and Mable Walkup and maternal grandfather Melvin Noack and Paul Ray Fisher. Davena is survived by her husband, David of the home, father and mother Ross and Sabra Walkup of Durant, OK, father and mother-in-law Dan and Karen Berghauser of Durant, OK, brother Lance Walkup and wife Karin of Pottsboro, TX, brother Aaron Walkup of Durant, OK, grandmother Joan Noack Fisher of Lovington, NM, niece Auney Petersen and nephew Aiden Petersen both of Pottsboro, TX, uncle Albert Weaver and wife Dietra of Cleveland, TX, uncle Homer Walkup of Lake Dallas, TX, aunt Ginny Thompson of Fresco, TX, uncle Bill Noack and wife Barbara of Lovington, NM, and many other family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Homer Walkup officiating. Interment will be at Mead Cemetery for family only. Family Hour will be on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Lance Walkup, Aaron Walkup, Aiden Petersen, Albert Weaver, Josh Weaver, and Edward Weaver.
