Funeral Services celebrating the life of David “Goose” Walker will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday March 6, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Tishomingo, Ok with the Rev. Jonathon Smith, officiating and Terry Dupree and J.D. Batman assisting. Visitation will be Friday noon to 8:00 P.M. with family hour from 5:00 until 7:00. Pallbearers will be Darrell Walker, Randy Mack Peden, Tom Winkler, Charlie Baker, Lee Newman, Matt Gamble, and Charlie Baker. Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Department. David was born on February 24, 1951 to Thurman Thomas and Julia Standridge (Wright) Walker at Madill, Oklahoma and he passed from this life on March 4th, 2010 in Ardmore at the age of 59 years, and 8 days. David was raised in Tishomingo, he attended Tishomingo schools and later received his GED. He co-owned Walker Septic Tanks and worked for OG&E. He met and married Clarissa Peden and they made their home in the area. He then became a technician for the Oklahoma Department Wildlife Conservation where he worked for over 27 years. He was an inventor with two patents pending and had built several houses in the area. He could build, make, or fix anything. He was very passionate about his worship at Victory Life Tabernacle in Durant where he had been a member since 2001. He was a valued usher, was a member of the singles group and had been a member of a Care Group. Survivors include a daughter, Alisha Deann Key and a son Brian Walker of Tishomingo, and a stepdaughter, Stephanie Broughton of Duncan. A sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Ronnie West, a sister-in-law Oma Dell Walker, a daughter-in-law Delilah Walker all of Tishomingo. Grandchildren include John and Aaron Key of Duncan, Jeremiah, Elijah, and Alexis Broughton, Ashlee, Baylee, and Brilee Walker all of Tishomingo and Sheylon Broughton of Duncan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Edwin “Johnny” Walker and Donald Wayne “Donnie” Walker all of Tishomingo.
