Dorothy Mae (Hill) Marlow

Denison, TX- Dorothy Mae (Hill) Marlow, 90, born Wednesday, May 3rd, 1933 in Denison, Texas to parents Alvie Ennis Hill, Sr. and Lena Catherine (Taul) Hill. She met her Heavenly Father and received her Wings on Friday, August 18th, 2023. Dorothy grew up and attended Denison Public Schools. After graduation, she worked at the Cotton Mill. On December 14, 1953, she married her forever love, Harold F. “Fletch” Marlow in Sherman, Texas. She then worked as a cashier for White’s Grocery and Safeway Store. Together they had owned H&H Rental, Marlow’s Phillips 66, Marlow’s Wrecker Service and U-Haul, and Atlasta Answering Service. After Harold’s health declined, Dorothy worked at Walmart in the jewelry department until she retired. Dorothy loved crossword puzzles, word search, crocheting and her family. She enjoyed watching her favorite tv shows: The Golden Girls, Walton’s, and Little House on the Prairie. Dorothy attended churches at Sunset Baptist in Ponca City, Oklahoma and Mimosa Lane Baptist in Mesquite, Texas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister Rosie Hill; brother Alvie Ennis Hill, Jr.; grandson Jeffrey Bond; and great-great grandson Dawson Jauregui. She is survived by her daughter Dianna Sanford of The Colony, TX, son Bill Marlow of Plano, TX, daughter Loretta Kimbrel of Ponca City, OK, daughter Susan Fogle and husband, Bill of The Colony, TX, and son Sam Marlow and wife, Sharon of Kaufman, TX; brother J.D. Hill and wife, Joanna of Canton, TX, and sister Jackie el Kadi of New York, NY; grandchildren Sharon, Madison, Kathy, Karen, Kimberly, David (Christy), Cody, Amber (Brandtley), Stephanie, Sam Jr. (Kere), Meagan (Austin), and Larry; 31 great-grandkids, and 17 great-great grandkids. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 25th, in Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Durant with Pastor Roger Speers officiating. Interment services will follow at Kemp Cemetery, Kemp, OK, with Bill Marlow, Sam Marlow, Sam Marlow Jr., Bill Fogle, David Marlow, Larry Wood, and Cody Bellars serving as pallbearers.
