Dylan Ray Guajardo

Dylan Ray Guajardo, 22 years old, of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, October 14, 2018 in Bokchito, Oklahoma. He was born in Houston, Texas to Julie Guajardo Owings on October 19, 1995. In the year 2000, Dylan went to live with his Aunt Sarah, Uncle Bill, and cousin Josh, who quickly became mom, dad, and brother. Dylan was very blessed to have had two "mommas." In Houston, he attended Ashford Elementary, Shadowbriar Elementary, and Westbriar Middle School. Dylan was in Gifted and Talented classes first thru sixth grades. In second grade, he was reading at a seventh grade level, and in fifth grade he was reading at a twelfth grade level. In third grade, Dylan got a commendation for making a perfect score on his HISD TAKS standardized testing. In 2009, after spending the summer in Bennington, Oklahoma with his sister Stephanie and brother-in-law Cody, he decided to stay and go to Bennington High School for ninth grade. Then he moved back to Houston to attend Westside High School. At Westside in tenth grade, he took his PSAT tests and qualified for six AP courses - Art History, Human Geography, English Language, Psychology, European History, and U.S. History, and he was deemed capable of meeting the challenges presented by AP college level course work. After high school Dylan found his way back to Oklahoma and became an Industrial Electrician and was working his way to a Journeyman's level. Dylan loved life and loved hanging out with family and friends. He always had a happy smile and warm hug for everyone. He loved “Merica," making people happy, and muddin' in his truck. Dylan loved his nieces, Bella, Zoey, Alana, and Shelby - they were the jewels in his life and he thought of them as his little sisters. He had a great love for his sister Stephanie, his brother-in-law Cody, and his mother Julie. He also dearly loved his Houston family, his mother Sarah, father Bill, brother Josh and his wife Mary. Dylan was a Christian who believed all things could be achieved through the power of Christ. Dylan is preceded in death by his grandparents Catherine and Lawrence Guajardo, his uncle Ray Guajardo, who he was named after, and his uncle Andrew Guajardo. Dylan is survived by his sister Stephanie Sullivan and her husband Cody Sullivan, and his nieces Bella, Zoey, Alana, and Shelby Sullivan, all of Earlsboro, Oklahoma, his mother Julie Guajardo Owings of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and his brother-in-law and best friend Zach Hardesty of Bokchito, Oklahoma. He is also survived by his mother Sarah Thompson and father Bill Hudgens and brother Josh Weaver and wife Mary, and his cousin Heather Guajardo, her daughter Hillary, and his Aunt Laura Guajardo, and best friend Parris Holland, all of Houston, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK. Ryan Perry will be officiating.
