Edmond 'Bucky' Cummins

Colbert, OK- Edmond Cummins was born Monday, December 31st, 1934 in Savanna, Oklahoma to Audmond and Susie (Nail) Cummins. Edmond passed from this life on Friday, October 18th, 2024 in Colbert at the age of 89. ‘Bucky’ as he was known by all who knew him, grew up at Jones Academy and attended school in Hartshorne. As a young person, Bucky worked and took care of his younger siblings and would make sure they each had what they needed. Bucky married his sweetheart, Glenda Lowry, on June 20th, 1959 in Denison, Texas. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2023. Bucky made a career as a salesman/delivery driver for Coca-Cola, Dr. Pepper, and 7 UP. A father of 6 kids, he was the most giving as well as the cool and fun, loving dad. He always loved get-togethers with family and friends and enjoyed laughing and having a good time. Bucky was a true-blue Dallas Cowboys fan and an avid OU fan. He had a green thumb as a gardener and a passion for growing all kinds of vegetables. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed playing a good game of Dominoes. Bucky is Choctaw Indian and was very proud of his heritage and he was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Regina Cummins in 2008; son, David Kemp; siblings Corene Barnes, Frank ‘Buster’ Cummins, Audie Cummins, Lorene Peters, Raymond Cummins, and Otto Cummins. Bucky is survived by his daughters Raylene Robinson and her husband, Robert, and Michelle Nelson and her husband, Mike all of Colbert; sons Mark Cummins and his wife, Marion, Len Cummins and his spouse, Corey of Colbert, Brian Cummins and his wife, Tonya of Platter, and Stu Kemp and his wife, Linda of Denison, Texas; a sister, Morene Gooch of Ponca City, OK; 16 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Services to celebrate Bucky’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22nd, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Durant with Pastor Joe Beshirs officiating.
