Fred A. Glenn

Fred Glenn of Silo, entered this life on January 21, 1935 born to Luther and Louise (Dowdle) Glenn. On May 24, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, Fred went home to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 3 days. Born in Silo, Fred has lived in Bryan County for most of his life. He attended Gober schools and retired from the Railroad. On April 8, 1976 at the Folsom Church, Fred and Frances Peoples were united in marriage. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was affiliated with the VFW and DAV. A member of the Silo Baptist Church, Fred never met a stranger and was always talking with people and telling jokes. He loved to hunt and fish and most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him. Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Louise Glenn; brothers, James and Robert Glenn; great-granddaughter, Sylvia Elizabeth McHenry. Fred is survived by his loving wife, Frances, of the home; son Jimmy Glenn and Trish of Granbury, TX; daughters, Donna (Glenn) Baker and spouse Jim of Granbury, TX, Lisa (Glenn) McHenry and spouse Chris of Owasso, OK; son, Joey Dail Jr. and spouse Susan of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Jeannie (Dail) Boston of Durant; brothers, Clyde Glenn and spouse Sue of Silo, Paul Glenn and spouse Ethel of Mena, AR; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren plus 3 more expected this year; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Fred will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, May 27th at the Silo Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Speers officiating. Donald Robinson, J.D. Harlin, Wendell Peoples, James Peoples, Ralph Vidal and Bill Hicks will serve as pallbearers. Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, Tuesday, May 26th from 6-8 PM.
