JJ Lorance

JJ Lorance was born on March 20, 1933 in Caddo, OK to William and Vada Kennedy Lorance and was called to his Heavenly Home on August 30, 2017 in Denison, Texas at the age of 84. JJ proudly served his Country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1955 until his honorable discharge. He married Joyce Earline Walker on September 24, 1955 and they were blessed two daughters, Deborah and Anita. After Joyce’s passing in 2009 he married Sylvia White Wells and they were blessed with seven years together. JJ and his family lived in Waterford, California for 16 years and he worked and retired from Sharps Army Depot and they later returned home to Caddo. JJ was a member of the Caddo Masonic Lodge, Lions Club, Caddo Community Association and Grace Baptist Church. JJ enjoyed genealogy, gardening and taking care of his family and helping people in need. JJ was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Joyce Lorance; brothers and sisters, Lee Weaver, Edith Collins, Agnes Gaines, Raymond Lorance, Johnnie Lorance, Ralph Lorance, Billie Bishop and JR Lorance. Loved ones left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Sylvia Lorance of the home; daughters, Deborah Williamson and husband Troy and Anita Self and husband Kevin; step children, Garry Wells, Larry Wells, Alton Wells and wife Allison and Jonathan Wells and wife Tiffany; brother and sisters, Roy Lorance, Bessie Childers and Janie Childers; grandchildren, Faron Williamson, Amanda Scarborough, Hunter Self, Daniel, Wade, Wyatt, Brady, Katelyn, Brenna, Bethany, Hannah and Baylon Wells; 6 great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Anthony Williams will officiate. Interment will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery with Hunter Self, Faron Williamson, Kevin Self, Garry Wells, Larry Wells, Alton Wells, Jonathan Wells, and Troy Williamson serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
