Lois Aldridge

Lois Aldridge, 95, of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Calera, Oklahoma. Lois was born on August 6, 1922 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Willie Ross and Leasea (Sheets) Glover. Lois married YB Aldridge on December 20, 1944 and they were truly blessed with fifty years together until YB’s passing on April 12, 1994. Lois graduated from Arkadelphia High School and worked for Strongbaker and the Toy Factory. Her biggest accomplice in life was being a dedicated homemaker to her husband children and grandchildren who she dearly loved and treasured. She was a loyal and dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed playing dominoes with her friends, cooking, getting her hair done and loving her family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bill Glover; sister, Lorene Clark; granddaughter, Cynthia Kay Aldridge and great grandchildren, Michael and Marcus Hollaway. Lois is survived by her sister, Margaret Price of Hobbs, NM; children, Sam Aldridge and wife Kathy of Durant, Billy Bob Aldridge and wife Martha of Laredo, TX, Ronnie Aldridge and wife Judy of Durant, Lonnie Aldridge and wife Joni of Durant and Rick Aldridge and wife Maralene of Denison, TX; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastors Darel Bunch, Roger Speers and Brad Clay will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Robert Aldridge, Dustin Aldridge, Jeff Aldridge, Mitch Aldridge, David Crowell, Brad Clay, Scott Gibson and Joey Tucker serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Nadar Farhoudi, Kyle Oliver, John Massey and Greg Massey. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
