Ola Faye Pruitt

Ola Faye Pruitt passed from this life on December 14, 2025, in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 93. She was born on March 27, 1932, in Utica, Oklahoma to Charles and Lenora Mitchell. Ola attended and graduated from Utica high school and later married Columbus Pruitt on July 11, 1955, in Tucumcari, New Mexico. Ola was born and raised in Bryan County and worked at Southeastern Oklahoma State University and as a technician at Texas Instruments for most of her career. Ola attended Utica Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog Phoebe, gardening, quilting, Bible study, tea parties, and playing games with her friends. Ola is preceded in death by her loving husband; Charlie Columbus Pruitt, parents; Charles and Lenora Mitchell, brothers; Charles Mitchell, Otis Mitchell, Byron Mitchell, York Mitchell, and J.W. Mitchell, sisters; Mildred Stone, Ruth Beal, and Maudell Williams, grandson’s; Zachary Henderson, Jeremy Pruitt, and Jeffrey Pruitt, and son-in-law; Ronnie Malone. Loved ones left behind to cherish her memory are her children; Arnold Roy Peeples and spouse Ines of Grand Prairie, TX, Dellena Malone of Utica, OK, Ricky Pruitt and spouse Sharon of Utica, OK, Joann Whittenburg and spouse Billy of Utica, OK, grandchildren; Jennifer Malone, Laura Henderson and spouse Curtis, Ronnie Malone and spouse Laura, Petra Danaway and spouse Cory, Alicia Farley and spouse Jack, Lindsey Head and spouse Eric, Kaitlynn Gunter and spouse Nick, Cody Whittenburg, and Justin Whittenburg, 14 great-grandchildren and Phoebe the little white dog. The family would also like to mention some dear friends; Helen Dobbs, Linda Munson, and recently deceased, Gaylene Wells. These Christian ladies loved Ola and their friendships have been such a blessing to her life. A visitation for Ola will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Brown’s Funeral Service chapel in Durant, OK. A funeral service to celebrate the life Ola Faye Pruitt will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Utica Baptist Church in Utica, OK with John Heath officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK, with Jack Farley, Eric Head, Justin Whittenburg, Ronnie Malone, Curtis Henderson, Dakota Hammond, Cameron Hammond, Nick Gunter and Cody Whittenburg serving as pallbearers.
