In Loving Memory of Randall Craig Hoppe Randall Craig Hoppe, 66, of Mead, Oklahoma, departed this life on April 16, 2026, in Denison, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. Known to most as Craig, he was a beloved spouse, parent, friend, and Papa whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Born August 14, 1959, in Ventura, California, he dedicated his life to his family and friends, always putting others first and leaving a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Craig wore many hats throughout his life. He worked in the oilfield, owned and operated Ada Fix All, and later became a YouTube fishing personality on Lake Texoma alongside his dear friend James Carter, sharing stories, laughter, and his love of fishing with hundreds of viewers. (http://www.youtube.com/@papahoppefishing) Craig never met a stranger, and his laugh could fill a room. If something was broken, he could fix it — or rig it up to make it work again. Many lovingly referred to him as “MacGyver.” Brilliant in math and gifted with a natural understanding of animals, he was often called an animal whisperer. He could calm a crying baby within moments, and his playful spirit made him a favorite among children. His greatest joy in life was being ‘Papa.’ Craig is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sue Hoppe; three children: Jason Masoner, Joy Masoner, Missy Hoppe (Paul Row); his siblings Joyce Hatcher and Michael Hoppe; 7 grandchildren: Hanna Masoner, Jasey Stafford, Connor Fowler, Peyton Fowler, Rylee Masoner, Kyla Callahan, and Kaison Callahan; 10 great grandchildren: Violett, Gracie, Sawyer, Jayden, Sophie, Sam, Bennett, Liam, Finn, and Benson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. Craig was also an “honorary Papa” to many other children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy Anderson and Melvin Hoppe; his sister Donna Merkel; and his daughter, Megan Hoppe. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, resilience, and unconditional love. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on May 2, 2026, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma, where friends and family are invited to celebrate Craig's remarkable life. Peyton Fowler, grandson, will officiate the service. After the service, a catered lunch will be provided. Craig will always be remembered for his warmth, humor, and unwavering love. He was happiest with a fishing pole in his hand and his family nearby, surrounded by those he cherished most. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing his laughter echoes on in the lives he touched.
