Raymond Dill

Raymond Dill, 82, of Bokchito, OK passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Bonham, TX. He was born on February 10, 1934 in Bennington, OK to Clint and Bertha (Labor) Dill. Raymond was a lifelong resident of Bryan County. He served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956 while he also fought in the Korean War. Raymond married the love of his life, Sarah Jo (Campbell) Dill on December 19, 1955 in Bokchito, OK. He attended Beames school and later served in security as a night watchman. He enjoyed gardening and working on small engine repairs for the folks of Bokchito. Raymond was of the Baptist faith. In his younger years Raymond loved to bird hunt with his buddy Bernis Horton. He also liked fishing and his favorite past time was coaching the little league and hauling the team around in his ‘66 Chevy pickup with the side boards. It was always a special win over Dillard Davis and his Calera Bulldogs. He umpired many games for no pay including high school. He taught his team winning isn’t everything but it sure does help. He coached you “win with grace and you lose with class.” Raymond is preceded in death by his mother, Bertha Labor Dill, brother Joe Glenn Dill, brother Carl Dill, and sister Barbara Dill. Raymond is survived his wife, Sarah Dill of the home, daughter Reba Titsworth and husband David of Bokchito, OK, son Farron Dill of Hugo, OK, daughter Rita Phillips and husband Ross of Bokchito, OK, father Clint Dill of Bokchito, OK, sisters; Pat Collins and husband Jim, Shirley Jacob and Monona Large and husband Bob all of Bokchito, OK, brothers; Dock Dill and wife Marilynn of Durant, OK, Clint Dill, Jr. and wife Ruthann of Bokchito, OK, Charles Dill and wife Sue of Durant, OK, Jimmy Dill and wife Jan of Bokchito, OK, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one on the way and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Brown’s Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Jackie Lewis and Rev. Ross Phillips will be officiating. Family Hour will be Monday, August 1, 2016 from 6-8:00 PM. Interment will be at Bokchito Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Condolences can be sent to www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
