Richard "Bud" Metcalf

Richard Dean “Bud” Metcalf, 76 of the New Allison Community was called home by his Heavenly Father after a long battle of cancer on Tuesday, November 3, 2015. He was born on November 21, 1938 in Bokchito, OK to Alva “Chief” and Betty (Oliver) Metcalf. Bud grew up and lived in Bryan County all of his life. He married the love of his life, Delores Fuller on August 2, 1959 in Wade, OK. He worked for Potter’s for 20 years, Kraft formerly known as Anderson Clayton for 20 years, and ranching. Bud was of the Baptist faith, loved his cattle, gardening, spending time with his family, and talking with his buddies at the Bushnell Corner Store. Bud was preceded in death by his parents. Bud is survived by his wife, Delores Metcalf of the home, daughter Dena Hill and husband Dane of Wright City, OK, daughter Lisa Threadgill and husband Greg of Whitewright, TX, grandson Jordan Hill and wife Brandi of Wright City, OK, granddaughter Sara Converse and husband Collin of Broken Bow, OK, granddaughter Ashton Threadgill of Houston, TX, grandson Bryant Threadgill of Whitewright, TX, great grandchildren: Jaxson Hill, Jaylon Hill, Jyllian Hill, and Aidan Converse, brother Kenneth Metcalf and wife Debbie of Little Elm, TX, brother Jerry Metcalf and wife Nancy of North Richland Hills, TX, brother Bill Metcalf and wife Hazel of Roggen, CO, sister Janie Burns of Bokchito, OK, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Hendrix Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Wade Cemetery with Bro. Ken Womack and Bro. Roddy Arnold officiating. Pallbearers will be Bill Brown, Woodie Alexander, Charles Williams, Norman McLaren, Jordan Hill, and Bryant Threadgill. Family Hour will be Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 5-7:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that you donate to your favorite cancer research in honor of Bud.
