Richard Dean Robertson Sr.

Richard Dean Robertson Sr. of Caddo, OK passed away October 12, 2017 in Tulsa, OK at the age of 76. He was born on August 9, 1941 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Estelle May Robertson. He was a Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux Native American and grew up in Roberts County, South Dakota, later attending high school in Anchorage, Alaska. As a young adult and possibly earlier, he gained employment with the carnival industry. Eventually he became a ride superintendent and a great love for the carnival grew that would stay with him for always. Richard was a truck driver and a darn great one too! He loved the road, the trucks, and all his trucking buddies. He toted 56 years of trucking up/down, back/forth all over this United States. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 2008, he met his future wife, Judith Dawn Worton, and on September 5, 2009 they were married in the Sacramento Temple for Time and All Eternity. They moved to Bryan County, Oklahoma by end of 2009 where Richard continued to truck until two years ago when he retired. During his retirement he enjoyed spending time with nearby family, teaching his dogs new tricks, talking on the phone with his (long distant) friends and family, watching car races, and watching sports on television. Though Richard had a “rough and wild” reputation most of his life, his heart was big and once you became a part of his family, you were destined to always be “his family.” Thus, he never used the term “step” when referring to any of his children, biological or otherwise. He is preceded in death by his mother, Estelle May Robertson; a daughter, Robin Leann Hutson; and a granddaughter, Nicole Robertson. Survivors include his loving wife of the home, Judith Dawn Robertson; his children, Richard Dean Robertson of St. Cloud, FL; Dan and Jodi Marie Crawley (Hutson) of Marysville, WA; Laurel Deanneen Robertson of St. Cloud, FL; Tonya Leann Robertson of Lompoc, CA; Ben and Michelle Mae Lopez (Robertson) of Gig Harbor, WA; Jeff and Toni Catherine Haynes (Lunsford) of Sherman, Texas; Stephanie Dawn Lunsford of Durant, OK; and Joseph Anthony Callejas of Durant, OK. His grandchildren, Jessica Hutson, Megan Robertson, Jake and Danielle Lazarri (Crawley), Gabrielle Crawley, Parker and Katelyn Nelson (Gallegher), Theresa Bosch, Kiera Bosch, Noah Bosch, Zackary Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Jasmine Lopez, Zoey Lopez, Brady and Jennifer Wilcox, Marshall Wilcox, Sadie Wilcox, Karaleigh Wilcox, Jaxton Wilcox, and Gabriel Callejas; his great grandchildren, Kaleb Barnes, Maxx Barnes, Madeline Barnes, Amilya Bailey, Autumn Bailey, River Lazarri, and Braylee Wilcox; and many, many extended family and friends. A memorial service is tentatively scheduled for July 2018 (Pow Wow Weekend) in Sisseton, South Dakota.
