Theodora "Fetchie" Buckmaster

Theodora “Fetchie” (Terrell) Heflin-Buckmaster of Durant was born April 27, 1925 to Robert Houston and Fannie Jane (Creasman) Terrell, Surrounded by her loving family, Fetchie went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 24, 2015 at the age of 89 years, 9 months and 28 days. Living in Bryan Co. for all of her life, Fetchie worked most of her days as a homemaker. Fetchie married Perry Heflin on November 29, 1940 and with their seven children, they had many memories until Perry’s passing on February 14, 1984. On July 13, 1980 Fetchie and Wendell Buckmaster were united in marriage and spent many loving years together until Wendell’s passing on August 9, 2002. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and always watching after children, especially her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Fetchie is preceded in death by her first husband, Perry Heflin; second husband, Wendell Buckmaster; parents, Robert and Fannie Terrell; four brothers; three sisters; two half sisters and one half brother. She is survived by her children, Bobby Heflin of Durant, Betty Potts of Durant, Woody Heflin and wife Martha of Denison, TX, Shirley Martin and husband Jimmy of Durant, Mary Tadlock and husband Jimmy of Mead, Norman “Butch” Heflin of Durant, Bonnie Rowland and husband Johnny of Durant; fourteen grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great grandchildren; along with numerous other family and friends. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Fetchie will be held Saturday, February 28th at 10:00 AM at the Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Interment will follow at the Mead Cemetery with Rex Bennett, Matt Powell, Dustin Heflin, Tim Potts, Woody “Bub” Heflin, Jeff Rowland, Robert White, and Weldon White serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be John Teel, Jerry Heflin, James Heflin, Weldon Heflin, James Tadlock, Johnny Rowland, Jimmy Phillips, Jimmy Martin and Jerry Don Heflin. Family will receive friends Friday, February 27th from 6-8 PM at the Funeral Home.
