Virginia Lee Morrison

Virginia Lee (Goff) Morrison, age 81, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away November 22, 2013 at her home in Madill. She was born on December 8, 1931 in Brownsville, OK to Lee F. and Callie Lee (Graves) Goff. She grew up in Madill, OK and attended schools in Madill and Lebanon. She married Andrew Morrison in Lebanon, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on May 1, 2010. She was a homemaker and was part of the Texoma Rockhounds. She attended church at the Madill Church of Christ. Gin loved arrowhead hunting, rock hunting and lapidary work. She had numerous articles published in specialty magazines regarding Indian artifacts, gems, minerals and lapidary. Gin was an excellent cook and constantly coming up with "one-dish dinners," as Dads used to say. She was very good at organic gardening and enjoyed starting new plants from old ones and giving them to her family and friends. She loved the American West and vacationing in New Mexico and Colorado. Gin was probably the happiest strolling along the beach looking for arrowheads or just being outdoors. She is survived by her daughters, Candis McDonough and husband Robert of Pittsfield, MA; Renee Post and husband Anthony of Bluewater, NM; grandsons, Clint Pierce and wife Beth of Pittsfield, MA, Will Post and Canon Post of Bluewater, NM; great-grandsons Jake and Julius Pierce of Pittsfield, MA; brother, Merele Goff of Rancho Cordova, CA; brother-in-law Donald and wife Dorothy Morrison of Madill, OK; sister-in-law Nelda Goff of Joshua, TX, nephew, Mike Morrison of Madill, OK; along with numerous nieces and nephews and many dear and loved friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Andrew Morrison, mother Callie Goff, father Lee Goff, brothers Cary Goff, Lonnie Goff, Paul Goff, Jack Goff, and Mark Goff, and sisters Annie Brown, Juanita Monroe and Betty Lou Hefley. Funeral Services will be Friday, November 29, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Chapel in Madill, OK. Bobby Monroe, Gerald Monroe, Tommy Brown, Mike Morrison, Verlin Hefley and Terry Hefley will serve as pallbearers. Family night will be Wednesday, November 27, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Brown’s Chapel in Madill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marshall Co. Historical Society.
