Willie D. Gray Durant, OK passed from this life at his home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday October 3, 2013 at the age of 70 years 3 days. He was born on September 30, 1943 to Mart and Novella (Snellgrove) Gray, in Lawton, OK. Willie married Helen (Chalk) Gray 49 years ago on October 2, 1964 in Durant, OK. Willie attended school in Dallas, TX and Kingston High School. He attended lineman school at OSU Stillwater, OK. He was a thirty-second degree Mason. He was a member of the Durant Masonic Lodge #45, Masonic Scottish Rite McAlester, OK, and the past president of Little Dixie Shriners of Durant. Willie retired from Southeastern Rural Electric after 34 years of service. He loved being with and doing activities with his grandchildren and family. He had a passion for antique cars. He enjoyed getting his cars ready for parades and loved participating in car shows. He was preceded in death by: his Daughter Michelle Gray, on October 14, 2006, his Father in 2007, his Mother in 1986, his Brother Bobby Gray in 2002, and his Brother Jerry Gray in 2000. Left to cherish his memories is his Wife Helen; Son Mike Gray and wife Linda of Madill, OK; Grandchildren Courtney Simmons and Alyssa Kuykendall of Durant, OK and Madison and Cameron Gray of Madill, OK; Sisters Sharon Horton and Husband Butch of Balch Springs, TX, Wanda Kriska and husband Frank of Mesquite, TX and Brenda Gray of Mesquite; Sisters in law Phyllis Eggenburg and Irene Moore of Durant, OK; Brothers in law Ralph Chalk and wife Mary of Terrell, TX and Mike Chalk and wife Marti of Dallas, TX; Uncle Elvin Gray of Walnut Bend, TX; Aunt Viola Jones of Mesquite, TX; Nephews, Nieces, Cousins, Family, and Friends. Services are scheduled for Tuesday October 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Buddy Manners officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Larry Speaks, Jerry Goodwin, Mike Skinner, Kolby Johnson, Punkie Jones, and Jeff Jones serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dub Hart, Joe Blackburn, Charlie Ackerman, Dale Boyd, and Harold Risner. The family will receive friends on Monday evening at 6:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
