Winfred Carol Alexander

Winfred Carol Alexander was born on August 14, 1928 in Shirley, AR. His family lived in Wade and Albany for a brief time before moving to Yuba, OK when Winfred was nine years old.Winfred farmed and ranched all of his life aside from the two years he was in the Army and stationed in El Paso. He loved working the soil and watching the plants spring forth from the ground. He would always have a beautiful garden. You could hear him singing or whistling and sometimes yodeling or he might pull that harmonica out of his pocket and play a tune or two as he went about his work.Winfred loved to hunt and fish with his family and friends when he could get a little time away from all of those chores of his. He loved all kinds of sports and played a lot of basketball and softball.Winfred married Oleta Crain on December 23, 1951 in Yuba, OK and they had one son, Winfred Keith. He then married Joyce Johnston on June 7, 1968 in Yuba, OK and they had one son, David Scott.Winfred is preceded in death by his parents, John H. and Lora Alexander, first wife Oleta Alexander, son David Scott Alexander, and brother Billy Gene Alexander.Winfred is survived by his wife, Joyce Alexander of the home, son Keith Alexander and wife Rita of Yuba, OK, granddaughters Katlyn Smith and husband Patrick of Yuba, OK and Raychel Alexander of Yuba, OK, brothers; Clovis Alexander and wife Stella of Bonham, TX, Don Alexander and wife Nancy of Bonham, TX, and Woodie Alexander and wife Katy of Hendrix, OK, sisters; Mary Morris and husband Bill of Dallas, TX and Connie Gannon and husband Geary of Ardmore, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel at 2:00 PM with Bro. Steven Alexander officiating and special music by Billy Gene Alexander. Interment will follow at Achille Cemetery in Achille, OK. Pallbearers will be his nephews and Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim McDonald, Kenneth Moffit, and John Trehern.
