Ann "Momma Ann" Gay Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lebanon, OK- Vanetta Ann (LaFon) Gay was born January 29th, 1940 in Lelia Lake, Texas to Stanley Forrest LaFon and Audie Dell (Britt) LaFon. She entered her Eternal home on February 19th, 2022 from Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 82. Ann, also called “Momma Ann” by everyone, grew up and graduated from Telephone High School in Telephone, Texas. She was a great basketball player while in school. She loved life and loved people. Ann married the love of her life, Ronnie Gay, in 1987 at Lebanon. Ann was a stay at home mom and seamstress all of her life, making her children’s clothes when they were younger. She was very active in the Lebanon community and had a passion for feeding the senior citizens at the community center. Ann was an excellent cook and enjoyed making all kinds of food. She enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, going to Blue River and traveling to Lake City, Colorado during the summertime. Ann loved being with her family and all of her friends. She was also proud to be the wife of a Veteran and very involved with the Church of Christ in Powell, Oklahoma. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Ronnie Gay in 2015. She is survived by her daughters, Danetta Dell Shelton and her husband, Curtis, of Lebanon, Era Quidon Thames and her husband, Karey, of Foster, OK, and Edwina Faye Myers and her husband, Kenneth, of Duncan, OK; grandkids, Michael Shelton (Tashina), Hazel Shelton, Misty Shelton, Jason Harrison, Kevin Smith, Wade Smith, Kendra Myers (Shane Mitich), Emily Myers and Ethan Myers; sisters, Linda Denison of Ardmore, OK, and Donivee Sutton of Bonham, TX; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members and great friends. A celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1st, at Brown’s Funeral Home chapel in Madill with Bro. Michael Herndon officiating.
