Delbert Lee Buffalo

Delbert Lee Buffalo was born on April 8, 1931 in Mead, OK to Tony and Pearl (Fergerson) Buffalo and passed from this life on May 10, 2014 in Denison, TX at the age of 83 years, 1 month and 2 days. Delbert has lived in Bryan County the majority of his life and was raised by his foster parents, Raymond and Augusta Williams since the age of eight. Delbert attended school at Bokchito and later served his country in the United States Army serving in Korea and Germany until his Honorable Discharge. Delbert married Lottie Sheffield in July of 1953 in Vernon, TX. Delbert worked in maintenance at SOSU for 17 years and retired from Reedrill in Denison after 13 years. He was a member of the VFW Post 3916 and the Steelworker’s Union and he enjoyed hunting, reading and watching westerns and he dearly loved his grandchildren. Delbert was preceded in death by his parents; foster parents; brothers Frank, Henry, Robert and Joe Buffalo; granddaughter Kari Buchanan; ½ sister Louise Burns and foster brother Bill Williams. Delbert is survived by his wife Lottie Buffalo of the home; children Virgil Buffalo and wife Shirlene of Durant, Ricky Buffalo and wife Sharon of Silo, Patricia Tucker and husband Danny of Sherman and Allen Eugene Buffalo and wife Jodi of Durant; sisters Pearline Griffin, Carrie Farler and foster sister Ann Minyard; grandchildren Jennifer Wagoner and husband Brandon, Thomas Buffalo and wife Tiffany, Christy Dooley, Jeff Aguirre, Amy Brown and husband John, Andrew Tucker, Kylie Turner, Cody Buffalo and Kaylynn Buffalo; great grandchildren Leah, Colton, Jaci, Tyler, Dakota, Paige, Brooklyn, Avery, Amery, Payden and Naomi and great great grandchild James. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Anthony Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Mead Cemetery with Cody Buffalo, Thomas Buffalo, Dakota Buffalo, Andrew Tucker, Brandon Wagoner, Tyler Wagoner, John Brown, Avery Brown and Colton Ledford serving as pallbearers.
