Dortha Virginia Dodd Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dortha V. Dodd On Sunday, June 19, 2022, our mom, and grandmother entered into her heavenly home where she was greeted by her Lord and Savior and a host of family and friends. Dortha was born on March 6, 1929, in Milburn, OK to Eddie and Effie Doss of Nida, OK. She was married to CJ Dodd on August 2, 1948, in Sherman, TX. CJ and Dortha had five children together, Phil Dodd and wife Phyllis Dodd Wallace, Kathy Dodd Ballard, Brenda Claborn and husband Eddie, Gary Dodd and wife Elicia, and Jerrell Dodd and wife Laura. She was a member of the Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Durant. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband CJ Dodd, son Phil Dodd, granddaughter Amy Claborn, son in law Eddie Claborn and sisters Murleen Rogers and Joyce Hamm. Dortha is survived by her children Kathy Dodd Ballard, Brenda Claborn, Gary Dodd and wife Elicia, and Jerrell Dodd and wife Laura, daughter-in-law Phyllis Dodd Wallace, grandchildren Heather Dodd, Ron Dodd, Emily Ballard Jones, Dawn Ballard Alred, April Claborn, Chance Dodd, Corey Dodd, Trinity Rymel, Casey Dodd Sharp, and Stephanie Dodd Lewis. She is also survived by twenty great grandchildren, and her brother Kenneth Doss and wife Janette Doss. As we honor our mother today, we find peace and comfort her body and mind is healed and she is in a beautiful peaceful place. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn. Chance Dodd will officiate. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
