Edna Louise Taylor

April 19, 1945 - March 6, 2022

Calera, OK- Edna Louise Gibson was born Thursday, April 19, 1945 in Achille, Oklahoma to the late William Gibson and Lucille (Johnson) Gibson. She departed this life and went into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 from Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Edna married the love of her life, Amos Taylor Jr. on June 18th, 1966. He precedes her in death on November 8, 2018. After their marriage, they lived in Texas most of their life. Edna was employed with Texas Instruments over forty years working as a manufacturing specialist. Edna loved being with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She enjoyed finding bargains at garage sales, mowing her lawn, gardening and any outdoor yard work. Edna is a charter member of the Grace Indian Baptist Church and loved going to church anytime the doors were open. She loved the Lord and was very involved in her church and would help whenever needed. She was a Sunday School teacher and member of the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU). Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Amos Taylor Jr; granddaughter, Mindi Brock; and brothers, Donald Gibson and Billy Joe Gibson. She is survived by her daughter, Mildred Taylor of Calera, OK; sons, Billy Taylor and his wife, Joanna, of Sherman, TX, and Monty Taylor and his wife, Sara, of Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Penny Martinez (Stephen), Averyl Enochs, Taylor Bumgardner (Daven), Brandon Taylor, Peyton Stephens (Josh), Skyler Taylor, Manda Esparza (Noel), and Justin Coby Taylor; great-grandkids, Madison Brock, Rameigh Brock, Leilani Brock, Ophelia Brock, Chase Bumgardner, Beau Bumgardner, Adriana Esparza, Amelia Esparza and Leon Esparza; sisters, Rose LeFlore of Sherman, TX, and Ella Buck of Wetumka, OK; and other extended family members and good friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16th, at Grace Indian Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Bailey officiating. Pallbearers will be Skyler Taylor, Brandon Taylor, Justin Coby Taylor, Shaun Sillivan, Stephen Martinez, Jason LeFlore and Jeremy McCain. A Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, March 15th, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
