Jackie Carl "Skip" Pirtle

Coleman, OK- Jackie Carl “Skip” Pirtle passed from this life on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 in Plano, Texas at the age of 78. Skip was born Saturday, July 22, 1944 in Reagan, Oklahoma to Carleton “Doc” Pirtle and Mildred (Wright) Pirtle. Skip grew up in Tishomingo, graduating high school at the age of 16. After graduation, Skip attended East Central University in Ada earning a Bachelors degree. Skip would soon enlist with the Army and served almost two years. He spent thirty years at Michelin in Ardmore. Skip has lived in Coleman the past 45 years and is a member of the First Baptist Church. Skip was a strong Christian man and always shared about God and His love for them. Skip was an avid fisherman and hunter, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He also had a ‘show truck’ and was very proud of people looking at it. He loved people: family and friends. Skip was a member of the American Legion Post 0309. Skip was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Mary Jeanne Pirtle; brothers, Jody Pirtle and Mike McIver; sister, Kay Frances McIver; step-son, Chris Webb; and nephew, Craig McCown. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Marie Bonham, of Coleman; his beloved dogs, Pancho and Lefty, of the home; grandchildren, Brenton Hall, Blaine Bonham, Shaylea Bonham and Addison Houser; sisters, Ann Janssen of Lake Whitney, Texas, and Linda Laverdier and her husband, John, of Highland Village, Texas; son-in-law, Jacob Houser; sister-in-law, Cindy McIver of Tishomingo; nieces and nephews, Kim Keeney of Duncan, OK, Scotty McCown of Lake Whitney, TX, Kerry Morgan of Corinth, TX, Danny McCraw of Hickory Hills, TX, and Carrie McCormick and her husband, Jeff of Everett, WA; and a great-nephew, Austin Vernon. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Sept. 2nd, at Tishomingo Cemetery in Tishomingo, Oklahoma with Rusty Daniel and Richard Dickerson officiating.
