Martha Marie Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Martha Marie Brown entered the Gates of Heaven on June 9, 2022, in Madill, OK at the age of 78. Martha was born on July 28, 1943, in Mead, OK to William Thomas and Edith Marie (Roberts) Goggans. Martha married the love of her life, Weldon Ford Brown on November 10, 1962, and they have been blessed with 59 plus years together. Martha dedicated her life to her family. She was a military wife and devoted mother to her two children. She worked as an accountant and later for Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She was a member of the Blast from the Past Car Club and a loyal and devoted member of Mead Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing, and square dancing in her early years. But most of all she treasured and loved all her family and friends. Martha was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ruby Goggans, William Robert Goggans and Bertha Merle Knowles. Martha is survived by her loving and faithful husband Weldon Ford Brown of the home; daughter Markita Tyre and husband Michael of Killeen, TX; son Weldon Brown of Durant, OK; grandchildren Stephen Brown and wife Kaitlyn, Zachary Tyre and wife Melissa, Jonathan Brown and wife Keyle, Cody Tyre and Amelia Crews; great grandchildren Kelton and Kinsley Brown; sisters Patricia Darlene Ferguson and Julia Elaine Rasor; brother Verstle Roy Goggans and wife Lylulus; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Kerry Groce will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery with Weldon Brown, Michael Tyre, Stephen Brown, Zachary Tyre, Jonathan Brown, and Cody Tyre serving as pallbearers.
