Bill Clayton

Billy Wayne Clayton entered this life on February 3, 1941 in Mangum, Oklahoma. Son of Oran H. and Minnie L. (Mobley) Clayton. On Saturday, June 25, 2016, Billy was received by our Heavenly Father. Billy received honorable discharges from the United States Air Force and the United States Army, proudly serving in the 101st Airborne Division, Screaming Eagles. In June of 1965, Bill married Lola Joyce Wheeler and they resided in the Oklahoma City and Midwest City area until 1986 when they established a home in Kingston, Oklahoma. Bill was self employed from 1970 to 1991, when upon graduation from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, he served as a Technology Education Teacher. Bill was a member of Victory Life Church in Durant, Oklahoma and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood carving and wildlife photography. He was a talented artist and enjoyed raising cattle. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Oran H. Clayton II, Robert (Buddy) Clayton and Jack Paul Clayton; Sister Joyce Clayton McVey; Sisters-in-Law: Margie Clayton, Vicki Clayton and Brother-in-Law John McVey. Bill is survived by his loving wife of fifty-one years Lola Clayton of the home. Children: Robert Carl Clayton, Karen Elaine Clayton, Laura Ann Clayton and Dana Lynn Hollowell and husband Steve. Brother Carl Clayton and wife Ruth of Altus, Oklahoma. Granchildren: Kristen Franks and husband Shane, Jessica Clayton, Ethan Hollowell, Shelby Hollowell and Faith Hollowell. Great-Grandchildren: Sean Matthew Clayton and Shea Lynn Franks and numerous extended family and dear friends. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 30. 2016 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Lee Armstrong of Victory Life Church will officiate.
