Cynthia Kay Aldridge

On July 9, 1968 the Lord sent a special person into this world; Her name is Cynthia Kay Aldridge- Bruorton. He gave her to Sam and Kathy (Mitchell) Aldridge. They nurtured her throughout her life and were with her when she went home to her Heavenly Father on January 30, 2017. There are several words that describe Cynde: vivacious, fun loving, outgoing and unique. One of the words that was an important part of her life was courage. She fought cancer for approximately six years. Even with all the bad news she received each time she had a doctor’s visit, she would tell everyone that "Gods got this!". Love and caring are words that best described Cynde. She truly loved people; they were a very important part of her life. Even though she was very ill when people visited her she wanted to make them laugh and make sure they were comfortable in her home. Cynde had several interests in life. She enjoyed quilting, swimming, playing games with family and was a mega shopper. She loved to cook and at extended family dinners she was in control. She could cook a delicious turkey which deserved to have it’s picture on a magazine cover. She also loved fireworks!! On July 4th of each year there was a command performance that was attended by Kathy and Sam's extended families. They were produced and directed by Cynde, Cynde attended Calvary Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School class members and church family. She attended Durant Schools from Kindergarten – 12th grade and then attended Grayson County College. She was a loan manager for many years in Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. She was married to Warren Bruorton for 25 years. Cynde did not have children so Kim and Alisha loaned her theirs and she loved them just like they were hers. Mitchell Aldridge, Harley Crowell, Drew Crowell, and Addi Crowell were a major joy in her life. Cynde is survived by her parents Sam and Kathy Aldridge of Durant, two sisters (Kim Aldridge and Alisha and David Crowell all of Durant) that were always by her side. Where one went the other two followed. Survivors also include grandmother Lois Aldridge of Durant. Aunts are Paula Howell and husband Steve and Carolyn Wilkins all of Durant, Uncles and spouses are Ronnie and Judy Aldridge of Durant, Lonnie and Joni Aldridge of Durant, Bob and Martha Aldridge of Laredo, TX and Ricky and Maralene Aldridge of Denison, TX. Nephews are Mitchell and wife Brittany Aldridge of St. Louis, MO, Harley and wife Suni Crowell of Washington, OK, Drew Crowell of Durant. Niece is Addison Crowell of Durant Great nephews Kasen and Riley Aldridge of St. Louis, MO, Gavin Auld and Liam Crowell of Washington, OK. Great Nieces Presley Kate Aldridge of St. Louis, MO, Jolie Crowell and Braylee Crowell of Washington, OK. Fur Babies are Hooch, Rover, Jingles and Tigger, Cynde was preceded in death by grandparents Billy Ray and Eunice Mitchell, Y.B. Aldridge and Kim's twin sons Michael James and Marcus DeLane Holloway. A celebration of Cynde's life will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Calvary Baptist Church. Bro. Darel Bunch and Bro. Roger Speers will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant. Pallbearers are Mitchell Aldridge, Dustin Aldridge, David Crowell, Harley Crowell, Chris Flanagan, Chris Howell, Zach Jorgenson, and Josh Wilkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Drew Crowell, Addison Crowell, and Grady Golden. Cynde loved bright colors so if you wish to wear your brightest colors to celebrate her life. The family will receive friends at Brown's Funeral Home Thursday, February 2, 2017, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice,com. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Elevator Fund. And always remember what Cynde knew "God's got this!!".
