Grady A Watson Sr.

Grady A. Watson Sr. was born on January 10, 1941 in Paris, Texas to Jay Hue and Vennie Mae (Porter) Watson and passed away on June 19, 2017 in Atoka, Oklahoma at the age of 76. Grady married Rosene Beasley on July 18, 1964 and they were blessed with three children. They have lived in Bryan County for 25 years. Grady proudly served his Country in the United States Army for 20 years. He worked as a welder in the shipyard in Houston, TX for many years. He was also a carpenter among other things. He attended Mead Baptist Church and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping and watching his grandchildren play sports. Grady had a special place in his heart for all his family. Grady was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Hershel and Athel Watson and sisters, Mary Ruth Mangrum and Eramae Hutchins. Grady is survived by his loving and devoted with wife of 52 plus years, Rosene Watson of the home; children, Lawanda Adams and husband Jerald of Lindsey, OK, Grady Watson Jr. of Mead, OK and Jason Watson and wife Paula of Carnegie, OK; grandchildren, Misty Reid and husband Larry, Chris Watson and wife Maria, BJ Sumner and Alicia, Brandon Willis and Stacy, Laurie Watson and Jamil, Brad Watson, Jesseca Watson, Jake Watson and Kristina Watson; great grandchildren, Hunter Watson, Braden Watson, Brandon Watson, Clayton Ellis, Joshua Ellis, Isiah Sumner, Mathew Sumner, Jaden Sumner, Micah Flores and Treydon and Treyvon Sledge; brothers, Charlie Watson and OJ Haskell Watson and wife Josephine and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 23, 2017 at Mead Baptist Church. Bro. Kerry Groce will officiate. Interment will follow in Butler Cemetery in Lane, OK with Haskell Watson, Jason Watson, Brad Watson, David Watson, Jake Watson and Chris Watson serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Watson and Braden Watson. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-6 PM.
