Joe Glenn Dill

Joe Glenn Dill entered this life on July 21, 1936 in Bennington, OK born to Clint Dill and Bertha (Labor) Dill. He passed from this life on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 1 day. Joe lived in Bryan County (Bennington/Bokchito area) until entering the U.S. Navy where he served his country in the Sea Bees for 5 years. As a young man, Joe loved to fish and hunt; but later in life, he spent most of his time caring for his family, home and animals. He married his wife, Shelby (Campbell) Dill on December 24, 1955 in Bokchito, OK. After serving his country, he and his family settled in Garland, TX where he worked and retired from U.S. Steel. Like most parents and grandparents, Joe’s girls and grandchildren were the limelight of his life. In February 2005, Joe and Shelby left their home in Texas and move back to Oklahoma. Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Dill, who died in the Korean War; and his mother, Bertha Labor Dill. He is survived by his wife, Shelby Dill; two daughters, Sharon Sharp and partner, George Clausen of Garland, TX, and Connie Hockett of Bokchito, OK, grandsons, Joe David Tutt and wife Ashley and Josh Bryan, granddaughter Brandi Nichole Gay and partner, Ty Walker, great grandchildren; Lyndi Bryan and Taia Walker. He is also survived by his father Clint Dill, mother in law Ruth Taylor Campbell, five brothers, Raymond Dill and wife Sarah Jo, Junior Dill and wife Ruth Ann, Dock Dill, Charles Dill and wife Sue and Jimmy Dill and wife Jan, three sisters Shirley Jacob, Monona and husband Bobby Large and Pat and husband Jim Collins and many nephews, nieces, cousins and family friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with Ross and Rita Phillips officiating, Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery with Joe David Tutt, Josh Bryan, George Clausen, John Teel, Junior Dill and Jimmy Dill serving as pallbearers.
