Julia Annette Schooling

On August 24th, 2026, Julia Annette Schooling age 57, of Calera, Oklahoma went to be The Great Father above who is the Shepherd Chief. Julia, who liked to be called Julie, was born on November 11, 1968, in Grapevine, Texas. She was the youngest child to the late Margaret Ann (McDonald) Schooling and Billy Ray Schooling. Julie graduated from Living Word Christian Academy in Alvord, Texas in 1987. After her youngest child’s graduation, Julie moved to Oklahoma to live within the Choctaw Nation Territory and absorb more of her Indigenous culture which she loved so dearly. Julie was a Choctaw Nation Registered Artist and loved to make Native American beaded items. Julie was a devoted mother to her children and loved being an aunt and great aunt. She loved her dogs, PowWows and sports. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns and Texas Rangers, but her favorite athletes have always been her kids, her kid’s friends and her nieces/nephews. Julie is preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ann (McDonald) Schooling, father Billy Ray Schooling; her brothers Gary Ray Schooling and Gary Edmond “Buddy” Schooling; her sister Brenda (Schooling) Fennell, and her beloved dogs. Julie is survived by her children, William Schooling of Alvord, Texas and Beverly Schooling of Calera, Oklahoma; her sisters Marsha D’Ann (Schooling) Roblez and Paula Gayle (Schooling) Talley; her nieces Kimberly Thomison and husband Shaun Thomison and their children; Brandolyn Martinez and her children and numerous other family and friends. He throws out to me a rope and the name of the rope is love and He draws me to where the grass is green and the water not dangerous, and I eat and lie down and am satisfied. Sometimes my heart is very weak and falls down but He lifts me up again and draws me into a good road. His name is wonderful. Sometime, it may be very soon, it may be a long, long time. He will draw me into a valley. It is dark there, but I'll be afraid not, for it is in between those mountains that the Shepherd Christ will meet me and the hunger that I have in my heart all through this life will be satisfied. He gives me a staff to lean upon. He spreads a table before me with all kinds of foods. He puts His hand upon my head and all the "tired" is gone. My cup He fills till it runs over. What I tell is true. I lie not. These roads that are "away ahead" will stay with me through this life and after; and afterwards I will go to live in the Big Tepee and sit down with the Shepherd Chief forever.
