Karla (Hampton) Turner

Karla Lynn (Hampton) Turner passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2026 in Calera, OK while surrounded by family. She was born on October 20, 1960, in Wasco California to Kenneth Ray and Ruth Janette Hampton. Karla grew up with her 6 brothers and sisters in Bennington, Oklahoma where she attended Bennington Public Schools excelling in basketball as a forward and Bryan County All Star. One of her proudest accomplishments was scoring 49 points in a single game for the Bennington Lady Bears. Karla was a strong willed woman with a heart of gold. She was a woman of deep faith and a member of the Calera Church of Christ. Karla was deeply loved by all those who knew her. At the age of 17, Karla married Benny Harold Robison. Together they welcomed four children, Kara Nikole, Lynsey Gay, Kallie Ruth, and Benjamin Shey. They also helped raise her nephew, Kody Dean Hampton, whom Karla loved as her own. Karla owned and operated Chuck’s BBQ for many years, where she formed lifelong friendships and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She was easy to love and known for her infectious smile. A hard worker at heart, Karla never asked anyone to do a job she would not do herself. Her employees knew her as someone who would step in and do the hardest tasks without hesitation. Karla later married Bobby Turner and gained a stepdaughter, Amanda Danielle Turner. She also worked for the Choctaw Nation in Tribal Events, where she built many meaningful friendships and was respected for her kindness, dedication, and strong work ethic. Above all else, Karla loved her family fiercely. While she deeply loved her children, her grandchildren and new great grandchild were the true lights of her life. She made sure each of them knew just how loved they were. Karla was preceded in death by her father Kenneth Ray Hampton Sr. Karla is survived by her husband, Bobby Turner of the home, her children: Kody Hampton of Durant, OK, Kara Bacon and husband Benjamin of Calera, OK, Lynsey Robison and fiancé John Ray of Calera, OK, Kallie Robison and husband Matthew Sexton of Calera, OK, and Benjamin Robison and wife Shaina of Calera, OK and stepdaughter Amanda Turner of Bokchito, OK. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Khanner and Korbyn Hampton, Ava Nesbitt, Kalyn McDaniel and husband Cody, Noah and Jett Bacon, Camden, Cayson, Declan, Harper, and Holland Ray, Gavin and Gage Robison, Easlynn (Boss Baby) Sexton, and Karter, Ranger, RenLee, and Riggin Robison and great grandchild Kollins McDaniel. She is survived by her mother Ruth Hampton of Calera, OK and her siblings Kathy Duncan and husband Marty of McAlester, OK, Karin Hampton Halcomb and husband Denny of Durant, OK, Kenneth Hampton Jr. and Joni Hopkins of Blue, OK, Brenda Yandell and husband Rocky of Caddo, OK, Garrick Zane Hampton and Tammie McGinnis Durant, OK, and Randall Hampton and wife Heather Calera, OK, and numerous nephew and nieces. Karla will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her strength, her generous heart, and the way she loved without limits. Her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, January 19, in the Calera School gymnasium. Karla will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery with John Ray, Shane Ray Hampton, Khanner Hampton, Noah Bacon, Gavin Robison, Gage Robison, Karter Robison, and Jett Bacon serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Bacon and Matt Sexton. Karla’s family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Sunday, January 18, at Brown’s Funeral Home in Durant.
