Mark "Bones" Parker

Mark "Bones" Parker May 1, 1957 - July 6, 2015 "What matters most of all is the dash between the years." Mark “Bones” Parker was born on May 1, 1957 in Ridgecrest, CA to Peggy and Robert Parker. His mother and siblings moved to Guthrie, OK to a small farm when he was 13 years old. He loved to roller skate and everyone wanted him to teach them how to skate like he did. Mark learned the trade of drywall installation and later became a foreman in commercial construction. He made friends wherever he went. He had the “gift of gab” and the ability to tell funny stories to make people laugh, which is probably how he caught the “catch of his life”, his beloved wife Darlene. They married in 1985 and began their journey together. You might be surprised to know he and Darlene were the envy of everyone on the dance floor with their two-stepping skills. The moved to Lake Texoma where Mark became a Striper Guide and was better known as “Bones.” Some would say being a master of that craft would mean you were the first one done in catching and cleaning, even though the real “master of that craft” was him making friends for a lifetime. He was an avid Pepsi drinker and loved his candy. He was often found sitting quietly in his chair with his eyes closed just enjoying that candy. He later abandoned Pepsi for Dr. Pepper (because we all know he needed another Dr. in his life). Mark hated white cheese, whip cream, pudding, or anything of that color or consistency. Even if these things were disguised in recipes, he would know. Known as “Husband, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Friend, he was most proud of the name “Papa” to his many grandkids. His uncle Randy was very special to him in many ways and taught him how to play pinochle, which resulted in many, many late-nite games. After many years of pain and surgeries, he went to be with the Lord while peacefully sleeping at his home. (Apparently the candy is better up there). He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Hunt and is survived by his wife Darlene, children, “Little” Mark Parker, Melissa Parker, Jimmy Johnson and wife Sara, Athena Johnson, Timothy Parker, Kaleb Parker, Riley & Raylee Parker, Grandchildren, Bryanna Warnke, Austin Warnke and Lavanda Marx, 6 great grandchildren, sisters Marty Rowland and husband Michael and Tammy Hornsby and husband Mark, brothers, Bobby Parker and Scott Parker, step-dad Willie Hunt (whom he called “Dad”), uncle Randy Carson and wife Judy, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
