The great Native chief, Seattle once said, “There is no death, only a change of worlds.” Wednesday, March 7, 2018 Marticia Wallace, affectionately known as Marty, took the hand of her beloved husband of 57 years in this world, Floyd, and stepped into the next, beginning a new life with her treasured parents, Elmer and Ola Green, her second set of parents, Leonard and Ida Wallace, her granddaughter, Victoria and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Leaving love behind, even when returning to love, is never easy, and she left behind much love, but knowing one day all those loves will join her and Floyd with the rest of the family at some later date and those great family gatherings for Sunday dinners, Christmases, Thanksgivings and summer picnics will be complete once again. She is survived here by her sons, Mike with his wife Susan and Mark with his wife Ann; her daughter, Sherri Williams and her husband Bill; her sister-in-law and running buddy, Marie Risner with her husband Wendell; brothers-in-law , Leonard Wayne with his wife Linda and Ronnie with his wife Jane, all three more sibling than in-law; her treasured grandchildren, Aaron Wallace and wife Katie, Tiffany Wallace, Jordana Wallace, Cody Wallace, and Ashley Wallace , Cory Williams with his wife Yubelis and Ashley Trotter and her husband Reggie, as well as great-grandchildren, Kasen, Jagger, Shelby, Colton, Kreed, Kohan, Kylli, Koi, Trapper and Tenley and a veritable host of nieces and nephews: Terry, Jerry and Jack Risner, Regina Whisenhunt, Misty Jones and Matthew Wallace along with a pack of great nieces and nephews who all loved her dearly. She was a granddaughter, a daughter, a big sister, a wife, a mom, an aunt, a friend, a Mamaw, a great-grandmother, and a good woman. There were none better than her on this earth, and those who knew her well, know The Maker will welcome her to her new world with those who arrived before her to help Floyd and the others prepare the camp for us. Born on Oct. 8, 1936 in Pirtle, Oklahoma, she married Floyd Wallace, on February 21, 1955 in Durant, Oklahoma after he returned from overseas during the Korean conflict. For 57 years, she loved traveling from lake and marina to lake and marina and just being with Floyd before his passing. She enjoyed genealogical research and did hours of work in that area. She loved reading and little jaunts with “the girls“, but mostly she just loved and adored her family and always did her best. In the end our lives are measured and marked by the love of others and the effect we have on the ones we love. Marty was loved by many and she touched all that knew her. She was kind, generous and gentle to a fault, never raising her voice, always trying to be gentle and loving, so her measure is in the highest marks, graduating this world with honors into the next. Services will be held at Brown’s Funeral Chapel, Monday, March 12 at 2:00 PM. With family hour to be held there Sunday, March 11, from 4-6:00 PM. Aaron and Cody Wallace, Terry, Jerry and Jack Risner and Danny Swafford will serve as pallbearers. Tommy Green and Danny Spoon will officiate.
