Services to celebrate the life of Vickie Marlene Haddock, 58, of Shawnee, Oklahoma who passed away April 1, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma will be held Tuesday, April 7th, 10:00 AM at the First Baptist in Caddo, Oklahoma. Pastors Paul Calmes and Glenn Pence will officiate. Vickie was born February 11, 1951 in Caddo to Victor Ray and Lula Mae (Goss) Haddock. She attended and graduated from Caddo Public Schools and received her bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She was a dedicated and loving teacher who touched many children’s lives. She received the Teacher of the Year award at Dale Public Schools in 1983-1984, 1986-1987 and 1997-1998. She also received the Golden Apple Teaching Award for Instruction on November 15, 2005. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Oklahoma Education Association and the First Baptist Church in Shawnee. She enjoyed traveling, reading and sewing. Vickie will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved her. Vickie was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marsha Cunningham and husband George of Caddo, Ok; brothers, Albert Haddock and wife Sue of Caddo, Ok and Raymond Haddock and wife Deborah of Edmond, Ok; nephews, Brody Haddock of Caddo, Ok, Kevin Haddock of Edmond, Ok, Aaron Haddock of Oklahoma City, Ok, Cody Haddock of Edmond, Ok and Jeremy Ritterhouse of Caddo, Ok; nieces, Kasey Cozens of Caddo, Ok, Ashley Carter of Caddo, Ok and Crystal Cunningham of Caddo, Ok; aunt, Betty Stanley and husband Jerry of Caddo, Ok; other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends. Interment will be in Gethsemane Cemetery in Caddo with Brody Haddock, Jeremy Ritterhouse, Mark Branson, Kevin Haddock, Aaron Haddock and Cody Haddock serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Akins, Harold Jones, Richard Tarpey, Gary Burkhart, Dennis Watson and Gary Washburn. The family will receive friends at the Brown’s Funeral Service on Sunday from 1-6 PM and the First Baptist Church in Shawnee, Ok on Monday from 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Vickie M.
